Love My Hair Low Chemical Black hair dye is the safest option for chemically colouring your hair a deep, rich black colour. It is designed specifically for those who want to dye their hair black with a short application time and at the same time reduce their chemical exposure. This dye has far fewer chemical ingredients at much lower quantities than ‘normal’ chemical box hair dyes.
It is formulated with the lowest possible levels of essential active chemicals, and contains the botanicals Aloe vera, amla, and shikakai powders to support hair strength and condition during the processing time.
Why are these low levels so noteworthy? All chemical dyes contain a class of chemicals called Para-dyes, the most well known of which is PPD. The darker the hair dye shade the more of these toxic chemicals it contains. When people have an allergic reaction to chemical dyes it is usually a reaction to these chemicals. PPD and similar compounds are what allow chemical dyes to colour hair a black colour so quickly, which is of course super convenient. If you’re set on using a chemical dye then this Low Chemical dye is the safest route to go.

- Colour timing tip: If you want to cover grey with a dark brown colour, you can use this dye for a shorter application time, generally around 20-30 minutes. For a black colour a 45-50 minute application time is recommended. Do not leave the dye on your head for longer than 1 hour.
